They rely on the service of UptimeRobot to notify them if any of their sites is down.<\/p>\n<p>I though it would be fun, to create something physical, that could maybe blink or something.<\/p>\n<p>Introducing.. The <strong>UptimeTimeRobot-robot<\/strong> &#8211; <em>still working on the name<\/em> \ud83d\ude09<br><video style=\"height: 100%; width: 100%;\" autoplay=\"autoplay\" loop=\"loop\" muted=\"\" controls=\"controls\" width=\"300\" height=\"150\"><source src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/uptimerobot-robot.mov\" type=\"video\/mp4\">Your browser does not support the video tag.<\/video><br>When the &#8220;robot&#8221; is connected to wifi, it will just sit there and blink every once in a while.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>But whenever a server is down, we get this.<video style=\"height: 100%; width: 100%;\" autoplay=\"autoplay\" loop=\"loop\" muted=\"\" controls=\"controls\" width=\"300\" height=\"150\"><source src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/uptimerobot-robot-alert.mov\" type=\"video\/mp4\">Your browser does not support the video tag.<\/video><\/p>\n\n\n<p>At the top, there&#8217;s a button to pause the alert until next cycle, where it calls the uptime robot api.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Click: Pause the alert until next cycle.<br>5 sec. press: Reset wifi settings.<br>10 sec. press: Checks for new firmware OTA<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The body is 3d printed, and the interior is <br>&#8211; 1 x 5110 lcd display<br>&#8211; 1 x wemos d1<br>&#8211; 1 x push button<br>&#8211; 2 x leds (red and blue)<\/p>\nAnd here&#8217;s how it&#8217;s wired together:\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/UptimeRobotWemos.jpg\" style=\"width:100%;height:100%;\">\n\n\n\n<p>Source code can be found here: <a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/kim82\/esp8266UptimeRobot\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">https:\/\/github.com\/kim82\/esp8266UptimeRobot<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>So.. 3 years with no posts .. wow.. aaaanyway&#8230; My better half works with web sites and hosting.
